in the life of an average senior at sman 3 bandung, after school you study. you go to a bimbel, intensif, konsultan pendidikan, or whatnot. you join tryouts and you gather as much tryout questions as possible. you buy a lot of books, all containing thousands of questions for the subjects you’re going to face at SIMAK, PMBP, USM, SMUP, UMB, SNMPTN or whatever variant of exams you choose.
but i, my friend, am not an average joe. first of all, i am not Joe. secondly, i don’t go to bimbels. i have never joined a tryout. i failed in a regular year-twelve chemistry test. i think i’m getting nearly zero in a physics test. i have left school for a month and will do so again for another two months for WSDC.
and i still wish to enter FTI ITB.
i still wish to enter an arena full of approximately one-sixth of my class year who are aiming for the same major. an arena full of not only them, but hordes of people from around Bandung, around Java, even around Indonesia, who all wish to have one of the few hundred available slots at FTI.
i must either be really smart, brave, or just plain crazy.
i think it’s the last.
whichever one i am, USM2 is coming in… seven months.
i’d like to call that a short amount of time.
